Formwork on an uneven surface

The arrangement of the formwork on uneven surfaces is not a simple idea and entails some difficulties. Firstly, it is mandatory to conduct a geodetic survey of the construction site for the correct calculation and design of the base of the object. With its help, you will be able to identify the degree of slope of the site and engineering and geological surveys that determine the composition of the soils with which you will have to work. We strongly recommend not to lose sight of this moment, although it will entail certain financial costs.

When designing the foundation of a future structure, it is worth paying special attention to the fact that the higher the level of the height difference of the surface, the more difficult the complex of work carried out on the installation of the formwork will be and the more reliably it will need to be strengthened. When placing the formwork on uneven areas, it is necessary to strictly follow building codes and technologies. During the construction of such foundations, special attention is paid to preparatory activities and additional work.

We would like to draw your attention to some important points that will help reduce the risks of unpredictable situations in the future.

First of all, you will need a competent foundation project for the construction of an object on an uneven site. Calculations must be included in it: the dimensions of the foundation, the estimated weight load of the building on the foundation, the specific pressure exerted on the ground at different points, temporary loads.

The hydrogeological assessment of the site allocated for construction and the analysis of its soils will be of great importance. To do this, they often do work on drilling exploration wells.

It will be necessary to create an effective drainage system, since it is the accumulated moisture that can eventually lead to slipping and even collapse of the soil in the upland part.

The formwork, erected in the conditions of the existing height differences on the site, should be at the lowest point higher than at the top. This is due to the fact that it will have to withstand the horizontal level of the poured base.

Also, special attention should be paid to the choice of fasteners and tightening elements of the formwork. Since the formwork erected on an uneven site will succumb to greater loads than the formwork mounted on a flat base, the elements of its fastening must be strong and securely fix it.

In this case, we suggest using spring clamps or chiroses, since they are able to withstand a load of up to 3 tons, and also absolutely exclude the distortion of the reinforcement, which will save you from the risk of distortion of the form of the formwork and, as a consequence, the foundation being poured.

They are absolutely easy to install, it is enough just to fix them on the fittings from the outer sides of the formwork and clamp them with a special clamping wrench.
